FENNOR / KITCHEN RENOVATIONS

Made for cooking.
Designed for living.

A better kitchen starts with the way you use it. Fennor helps you make room for cooking, storage and family life, with the layout and practical work considered together.

THOUGHTFULLY PLANNED. BETTER CONNECTED.

INTERACTIVE LAYOUT STUDY

Start with the route.
Not the island.

Try the three layouts and bring your favourite to Fennor. We use your routine, appliances and measured room to develop the actual proposal; these drawings are only starting points.

WASHPREPCOOKSTOREENTRY

The dashed route is illustrative. Your own appliances, room and habits shape the final layout.

A working corner. An open centre.

Want a kitchen that opens into daily life? Fennor tests the L-shaped layout around your appliances, storage and route through the room. You see how the working corner relates to a table or open centre before choosing the cabinetry.

  • We show the cupboard access, bins and appliance-door movements in the layout.
  • Your preparation space follows the way you cook and wash up.
  • We include the proposed task-light positions, not only a central ceiling fitting.

One person or several: the final layout is considered around your actual appliances and measured room.

THE EVERYDAY TEST

Beautiful at a glance.
Better on a busy morning.

Fennor starts with your appliances, the things that stay on the worktop and the storage you are missing. We use that brief to develop the layout and explain the associated services and finishes, so the proposal reflects a busy morning as well as a finished photograph.

Preparation
A useful landing space, the tools you reach for and task light that is not blocked by your body.
Cooking
Suitable extract, appliance connections and safe movement around the active cooking position.
Storage
Drawer and shelf arrangements matched to what you own, including the awkward items that rarely fit the photograph.
Living
Seats, views, conversation and circulation tested with people actually using them.

Before the order is placed.

Before an order is agreed, we work through the proposed appliance list, cabinet layout, worktops, lighting and connections with you. Repairs and making good are separated from the new kitchen, making the work and budget easier to understand.

Where walls or services change, we identify the design and specialist installation appointments involved. The final layout also allows for relevant maintenance access and appliance replacement.

YOUR PROJECT WITH FENNOR

First, the way it works.
Then, the way it looks.

We explain the choices, the work involved and what happens next, so you can decide with a clearer picture.

01

Your routine shapes the layout.

We ask where worktop space runs out, what is hard to reach and how many people use the room. Then we work through storage, seating and appliance positions so your choices serve the room, not just the photograph.

02

We explain the work behind each option.

Moving a sink, cooker or extractor changes drainage, electrical loads or ventilation. We identify the specialist input needed and show how those changes affect the price, so you can choose a layout with the full picture.

03

From favourite finish to agreed plan.

We help narrow your materials, lighting and fittings around budget and upkeep. The proposal clearly separates removal, fitting, connections, decoration and any items you are supplying. You know what is included before the old kitchen comes out.

SUPPORT FOR THE WORK YOU HAVE IN MIND

The support to explore.

Grant support

Disability-related housing adaptations

Up to €40,000

Means-tested local-authority support for necessary adaptations that help a person with a disability live at home. Not a grant for a cosmetic bathroom or kitchen makeover.

Conditions & official guidance
  • The maximum is €20,000 for a home built within the previous 12 months. Medical need, the necessary work, approval and available funding determine the award.
  • The lowest assessed-income band is up to €37,500, with tapered support up to a €75,000 threshold. Applicable deductions and disregards are considered by the local authority.
  • Secure local-authority approval before work. Fennor can discuss the building work; we do not decide eligibility or guarantee funding.

Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant

Up to €50,000 / €70,000

Up to €50,000 for qualifying vacant-property refurbishment, or €70,000 including the confirmed derelict-property top-up.

Conditions & official guidance
  • Generally a pre-2008 property vacant for at least two years, becoming your principal home or an RTB-registered rental. Local-authority approval, inspection and eligible-cost rules apply.
  • Current guidance provides an 18-month completion period and ten-year charge/clawback conditions. This is not a general renovation grant for an occupied home.
  • SEAI support may apply to separate eligible work, but the same costs cannot be funded twice. Island and multi-unit cases have distinct rules.

USEFUL ANSWERS

A better kitchen.
The practical decisions.

Plain language. No pressure to have it all figured out.

01

Do I need a completely different layout?

Not always. We first look at whether better storage, lighting or selected replacements would solve the problem. Keeping suitable services where they are can simplify the work.

02

Can we open the kitchen into another room?

Yes, it is an option to explore. We establish the structural and regulatory checks needed, including support, fire safety and ventilation, before pricing an opening between rooms.
