FENNOR / EV CHARGING

Your roof.
Your next journey.

Come home, plug in and charge around your routine. Fennor helps you plan a home charger around the car, driveway, electricity supply and any solar you already have.

THE DRIVEWAY IS PART OF THE ENERGY PLAN

How far you travel.
When you plug in.

A charger should work for the journey you need to make, even when the sun does not cooperate. Use this illustration to separate driving energy from available solar surplus.

THE ENERGY BEHIND THE DISTANCE7.2 kWh

Illustrative driving energy for 40 km.

3.0 kWh of that demand could be matched by the assumed surplus before charging losses.

Distance × consumption ÷ 100. This is an energy comparison, not a charging forecast. Charger and vehicle limits, minimum charging power, weather, losses and when the car is plugged in can reduce the usable contribution. Defaults are examples, not Irish driving averages.

ZAPPI / DIFFERENT CHARGING PRIORITIES

The same charger.
Different ways to use it.

FAST

Ready for the next trip.

Uses the available supply to charge without waiting for solar surplus. Grid electricity may be used.

ECO

Keep charging, with surplus.

Adjusts charging around available surplus and may draw grid electricity to maintain charging.

ECO+

Wait for the right conditions.

Can pause when the configured surplus conditions are not met. Vehicle behaviour and settings affect the result.

This is a simplified overview. At handover, the installation team demonstrates charging modes, minimum-green settings, boosts and load management for your vehicle, so you can choose between waiting for surplus and being ready for a trip.

PLAN THE ORDINARY DETAILS

A clear cable route.
An easier daily routine.

Fennor plans the charger position around where you park, the cable reach and your vehicle. We also account for a future car, so the proposed position works for the way you use your driveway.

A Registered Electrical Contractor assesses supply capacity, protection and load management alongside your home’s other loads. A charger’s maximum rating is not a promise that every vehicle or supply can use it.

YOUR PROJECT WITH FENNOR

Charge around your life.
Not just the sunshine.

We explain the choices, the work involved and what happens next, so you can decide with a clearer picture.

01

We explain the charging choices.

myenergi zappi offers FAST, ECO and ECO+ modes, using grid power and available surplus differently. We relate those options to when you need the car ready. Solar is optional; compatible charging can use grid electricity when needed.

02

We plan the practical installation.

We start with parking, cable reach and the car’s arrival and departure times. The electrical assessment establishes supply and load-management requirements. The vehicle’s onboard charger and minimum charging needs also matter; solar cannot charge a car while it is away.

03

We explain the grant steps.

SEAI offers up to €300 for an eligible home charger. It requires an eligible smart charger and a Safe Electric Registered Electrical Contractor, with the offer in place before the relevant costs or work. We explain the application sequence alongside your installation plan.

SUPPORT FOR THE WORK YOU HAVE IN MIND

Grant support

Home EV charger

Up to €300

Separate support towards an eligible smart home charger and its installation—not towards the car or the solar panels.

Conditions & official guidance
  • Apply and receive the grant offer before purchasing or starting installation. The charger must be on SEAI’s eligible list and installed by a Registered Electrical Contractor. Complete the installation and submit the claim within six months of the offer.
  • Property, parking/planning, MPRN and previous-funding conditions apply; approved charger-arm arrangements have specific requirements. You do not need to own an EV when applying.

Grant support

Shared apartment EV charging

60%–90% of eligible infrastructure

Support for a qualifying shared-development charging network, plus €600 per charge point under SEAI’s infrastructure route. It is not an automatic top-up to every home-charger grant.

  • Applicant type, shared-development eligibility, equipment and the registered charge-point operator determine the route. Charging-network support requires a qualifying multi-unit development with shared or private parking.
  • The management company partners with an SEAI-registered charge-point operator, who coordinates the network and required works. Agree the application before procurement and do not assume the same equipment can receive duplicate support.

USEFUL ANSWERS

Solar and your EV.
Make the connection.

Plain language. No pressure to have it all figured out.

01

Would I need solar panels for zappi?

No. It can charge from the grid. We explain which solar-aware functions apply where compatible generation and measurement are present, or plan charging without solar.

02

Could solar cover all my driving?

It depends on mileage, vehicle efficiency, connection times and available surplus. We work through those patterns with you, including seasonal changes and grid charging when solar is not enough.

03

Would the charger grant be included automatically?

No. Property, equipment, contractor and application conditions apply. We explain what needs approval and when, so the required grant offer is in place before the relevant purchase or work.
