FENNOR / IS MY HOME SUITABLE?

A better answer starts
with your home.

Not sure whether your house is ready for a heat pump? You do not have to work that out yourself. Fennor helps you understand the assessment, the results and any improvements needed first.

YOUR FIRST CONVERSATION / NOT A PASS OR FAIL

Bring the unknowns
into the open.

You do not need all the answers before speaking to Fennor. We use what you know to identify the next assessment, explain its purpose and the appointment involved, then bring the findings into your heating options.

A useful next step.

Fennor works from the BER and insulation information available, then explains any assessment needed to fill the gaps. You do not need to collect every record before making contact.

This is a preparation checklist, not a technical score. Entries stay only in this page session and are not sent to Fennor.

TWO CHECKS, NOT ONE

Grant evidence
is not heating design.

Fennor separates the application evidence from the design decisions in your next steps. A grant route does not specify a heat pump, establish radiator output or resolve outdoor-unit siting.

Understand your grant checks

WHAT WE EXPLAIN IN YOUR PROPOSAL

  1. Room-by-room heat loss
  2. Emitter output at the proposed flow temperature
  3. Hot-water demand and cylinder selection
  4. Outdoor siting, drainage and access checks
  5. Controls, commissioning and aftercare scope

We identify our role and the required specialist appointments before you proceed. No website checklist replaces these site-specific decisions.

Already planning insulation or new windows?

Fennor brings the agreed fabric upgrades into the heating brief. The design then reflects the intended home after that work, rather than sizing a system around conditions you plan to change.

YOUR PROJECT WITH FENNOR

No need to guess.
Let’s understand your home.

We explain the choices, the work involved and what happens next, so you can decide with a clearer picture.

01

We make the starting point simple.

Bring a BER or a heating bill if you have one, and tell us which rooms feel cold. We identify the assessment needed for the building’s condition and room-level heat demand. Missing paperwork is not a reason to put off the first call.

02

We turn the findings into choices.

We explain what the assessment means for radiators, pipework, cylinder space and electrical supply. If changes will affect storage, floors or decoration, we show those alongside the cost so you can weigh the whole project.

03

We explain the grant evidence separately.

A pre-2007 home needs a technical assessment for SEAI’s individual grant unless a valid BER records HLI of 2.3 W/(K·m²) or less. Otherwise eligible homes built from 2007 onward, and qualifying older homes, use self-declaration. The home must be built and occupied before 2021. This paperwork does not replace heating design.

A SIMPLE START

Bring what you know.
We will explain the next step.

  • 01Whatever BER or home-age information you have
  • 02Your heating bills and the rooms that feel cold
  • 03Photographs of radiators, cylinder and available space

SUPPORT FOR THE WORK YOU HAVE IN MIND

Grant support

Heat-pump system for your home

Up to €14,500

The eligible house maximum includes the system, necessary heating upgrades and qualifying scrappage. It is not a flat payment for every installation.

Conditions & official guidance
Heat-pump system — house
Up to €10,500
Necessary central-heating upgrades — house
Up to €2,000
Qualifying scrappage
€2,000
Combined apartment maximum
Up to €11,500
  • Home built and occupied before 2021, with an MPRN. Applies to eligible air-to-water, ground-source, exhaust-air-to-water and water-to-water systems; air-to-air has a different ceiling.
  • Scrappage covers qualifying oil, gas, solid-fuel or electric-storage heating replacement; SEAI also includes eligible homes without central heating. The installation design determines each component.
  • Grant approval must precede work. Payment cannot exceed eligible cost; a post-works BER and completion documents are required. Existing-heat-pump replacement follows a separate route.

Grant support

Heat-pump technical assessment

€200

Support towards the qualifying technical assessment, linked to a heat-pump grant application—not a standalone free survey.

Conditions & official guidance
  • For a pre-2007 home, a technical assessment is required unless a valid BER confirms a heat-loss indicator of 2.3 W/(K·m²) or lower.
  • Homes from 2007 onwards, and qualifying older homes, can use the self-declaration route. The evidence route does not replace heating-system design.

USEFUL ANSWERS

Is a heat pump right for you?
Let’s look at your home.

Plain language. No pressure to have it all figured out.

01

Does a good BER mean the heating design is already done?

No. It is a useful starting record. We explain the additional room-by-room heat-loss, radiator or underfloor-heating checks and installation design your proposed system needs.

02

What if improvements are needed first?

We put the findings into a sensible order and explain the cost of the improvements first. Insulation, ventilation or radiator work may come before the heat pump. The home’s needs, not a grant deadline, determine the sequence.

LET’S TAKE THE NEXT STEP

Let’s talk about your home.
