AN APPLICATION IS NOT AN AWARD

Four moments.
Keep them in the right order.

  1. Your starting point

We establish the property details, proposed work and any previous grants with you, so the application starts from the right information.

  2. Your funding route

We identify the relevant scheme, explain the eligibility conditions and separate your application steps from the contractor’s inputs. The funding body decides eligibility and approval.

  3. Your installation plan

Once the required approval is in place, we agree the installation work, who delivers it and the schedule against the deadlines in your offer.

  4. Your completion paperwork

We explain the claim checklist and arrange the project invoices, certificates and installation records from the responsible parties. You know what you need to submit and by when.

Plan the cash flow as well as the grant.

Before you proceed, we explain the full price, potential eligible support and payment stages, including who handles the application and claim. A grant maximum is not automatically money available on installation day.

YOUR PROJECT WITH FENNOR

Solar support, explained.
For the project you have in mind.

We explain the choices, the work involved and what happens next, so you can decide with a clearer picture.

01

Standard home solar and storage.

Solar PV support is capped at €1,800. An eligible battery of at least 5 kWh has separate €600 support: a possible combined maximum of €2,400 when both apply. We explain the property and previous-funding conditions alongside your proposed system.

02

The enhanced household route.

Up to €9,000 means up to €8,400 for PV and €600 for an eligible battery, not an addition to the standard PV grant. Qualifying welfare recipients can apply. The separate Dublin Rental Accommodation Scheme pilot requires eligible landlords to obtain confirmation from the relevant Dublin local authority.

03

Business and farm projects.

We start with your premises and electricity use, then explain SEAI NDMG and, for farms, DAFM’s Solar Capital Investment Scheme. The same investment cannot be funded twice. We explain the selected route’s required approval sequence before the project moves to work.

Grant support

Standard home solar PV

Up to €1,800

Support is based on the installed panel capacity. With a separately eligible €600 battery grant, the combined standard maximum is €2,400.

Conditions & official guidance
First 2 kWp
€700 per kWp
Additional capacity up to 4 kWp
€200 per kWp
  • Home built and occupied before 2025, with an MPRN and no previous solar-PV funding at that MPRN.
  • Wait for the offer before installation; use the registered company named in it and complete the required post-works BER and paperwork within the offer period.

Grant support

Home battery storage

€600

Flat-rate support for an eligible battery of at least 5 kWh. A larger battery does not increase this grant.

Conditions & official guidance
  • Home built and occupied before 2025, with an MPRN and no previous battery funding at that MPRN. A battery can be installed with or without solar.
  • Approval is needed before installation by an SEAI-registered solar-PV contractor. A post-works BER is required where solar PV is present; the works and documents must meet the eight-month offer period.

Grant support

Enhanced household solar support

Up to €9,000

An eligibility-based route: up to €8,400 solar PV plus €600 for an eligible battery. It replaces—not adds to—the standard PV rate.

Conditions & official guidance
Enhanced PV maximum
€8,400
Eligible battery, 5 kWh or larger
€600
  • Available to homeowners receiving specified qualifying welfare payments, subject to SEAI evidence and scheme conditions.
  • A separate Dublin RAS pilot requires a qualifying long-term tenancy and confirmation from one of the four Dublin local authorities. It is not a grant for every landlord or household.
  • The usual property, prior-funding and approval requirements still apply.

Grant support

Home EV charger

Up to €300

Separate support towards an eligible smart home charger and its installation—not towards the car or the solar panels.

Conditions & official guidance
  • Apply and receive the grant offer before purchasing or starting installation. The charger must be on SEAI’s eligible list and installed by a Registered Electrical Contractor. Complete the installation and submit the claim within six months of the offer.
  • Property, parking/planning, MPRN and previous-funding conditions apply; approved charger-arm arrangements have specific requirements. You do not need to own an EV when applying.

Grant support

Shared apartment EV charging

60%–90% of eligible infrastructure

Support for a qualifying shared-development charging network, plus €600 per charge point under SEAI’s infrastructure route. It is not an automatic top-up to every home-charger grant.

Conditions & official guidance
Owners’ management companies
80%
Local authorities / approved housing bodies
90%
Build-to-rent management companies
60%
Charge point under infrastructure route
€600 each
  • Applicant type, shared-development eligibility, equipment and the registered charge-point operator determine the route. Charging-network support requires a qualifying multi-unit development with shared or private parking.
  • The management company partners with an SEAI-registered charge-point operator, who coordinates the network and required works. Agree the application before procurement and do not assume the same equipment can receive duplicate support.

Programme route

Solar PV for medically vulnerable households

Separate fully funded route

A targeted managed programme, distinct from the standard and enhanced cash-grant routes. Eligibility and delivery are determined by the programme, not Fennor.

Conditions & official guidance
  • For qualifying households where someone relies on life-support equipment and is registered under the life-support category of their electricity supplier’s Priority Services Register. Your supplier confirms eligibility and the programme route.
  • This is not another amount to add to a €9,000 grant, and a private Fennor quotation does not secure programme support. We help distinguish the routes before you proceed.

Grant support

Commercial solar PV — enhanced NDMG

Up to €325,200

The award is the lower of the size-based calculation and 45% of eligible invoiced costs. The largest scheme award is not a typical business grant.

Conditions & official guidance
20 kWp size-based ceiling
€13,200
50 kWp size-based ceiling
€25,200
100 kWp size-based ceiling
€45,200
Maximum supported capacity
1,000 kWp
  • Enhanced applications: 6 October 2026 to 6 July 2027. The nine-month application window is separate from the eight-month completion/documentation period in an offer. Existing offers are not increased under these rates.
  • Qualifying non-domestic premises must be built and occupied before 2025. Approval is required before equipment purchases or work.
  • Batteries and supplementary items outside the standard PV installation are excluded. State-aid and other-funding restrictions apply; do not combine this with TAMS for the same installation.

Grant support

Farm solar — TAMS SCIS

60% of eligible investment

A €90,000 eligible-investment ceiling can mean a maximum €54,000 grant. It is not €90,000 cash support or 60% of every quoted cost.

Conditions & official guidance
Eligible investment ceiling
€90,000
Grant ceiling at 60%
€54,000
Grant-funded PV ceiling
62 kWp
  • DAFM reference costs, eligible paid costs and the submitted proposal constrain the calculation. Annual qualifying farm demand also limits the funded array; 4,200 kWh is deducted per dwelling sharing the MPRN.
  • Eligible battery capacity is limited to 50% of PV size numerically: 20 kWp PV allows up to 10 kWh supported battery, installed with PV.
  • Competitive selection and written approval precede work. Normally complete/claim within 12 months, subject to the approval. The published Tranche 14 close is 4 December 2026.
  • SCIS and SEAI non-domestic solar are alternative routes for the same investment, not amounts to add together.

Funding explained

EDDI & backup-switch additions

No separate listed grant

The current individual-grant list does not list a dedicated EDDI diverter or changeover-switch grant. We price these additions separately.

What this means for your project
  • Solar PV, eligible batteries and EV chargers have their own schemes; those grant amounts should not be described as funding for every accessory.
  • A solar-thermal grant is for a different hot-water technology, not an EDDI. Backup operation needs compatible equipment and a safe electrical design.

USEFUL ANSWERS

Solar funding.
Which support applies?

Plain language. No pressure to have it all figured out.

01

Would I be looking at €2,400 or €9,000?

They are different routes. Up to €2,400 combines standard PV and eligible battery support; up to €9,000 belongs to the enhanced eligibility-based route. We explain the conditions relevant to you, with the scheme determining the award.

02

How would the grant affect what I pay?

We show the project cost and possible support separately, then explain who applies, pays the invoice and claims the funding. Payment differs by scheme; a grant is not automatically an immediate discount or money available before work.
